Boehner: He’s got a Boner for the Poor

House Speaker John Boehner is once again flexing his party muscles. He is demanding that the Democrats cut food stamps and various social programs to fuel the budget for the Pentagon military machine. If rejected he will have no choice but to unleash his long-toothed caucus on next year’s debt ceiling election with strict orders to vote ‘no’. It is a win-win move for the GOP (‘Grand Old Party’ for anyone who wondered – a nickname for Republicans).

“Action Forcing Event”

An ‘action forcing event’ is the latest in Boehner’s  grand stroke that once again empowers those that believe the poor are sucking off the teat of society and must pay like everyone else. Has anyone ever held ‘Boner’s’ white, wrinkled, privileged hand (yes he comes from a working family but just his hue makes him privileged) and sauntered him through America’s projects of tons of assholes killing and drugging but also, and more-so, tons of families that are relying on food stamps to feed their kids and lift them out of their predicament? His ‘action forcing event’ should be concentrating on empowering his most vulnerable citizens.

The Buzz

• Ezra Klein of Washington Post online commented that it is the best move for the GOP who ended up receiving $900 billion in spending cuts and sucker punched the President’s ratings last time they made a debt ceiling deal. It teetered the Administration off its course. So why not do it again?
• A New York Times editorial said that the GOP would cut food stamps to over two million citizens to protect “bloated military spending and unjustifiably low taxes for the rich” as well as, once again, resurrect the tense, circus of a default threat, which last time cost us our AAA rating (see Standard and Poor).
• Jonathan S. Tobin wrote for Commentary Magazine’s site that the voter’s should decide come November and to simply let the Republicans continue moaning about their ability to maintain fiscal sensibility and the Democrats with their “taxing the rich” mantra. Once the administration is settled, Tobin suggests it may or may not be the “time to talk compromise again”.

Sticking it in the Backdoor

According to The Week, last year $1.2 trillion in automatic “sequestration” spending cuts was one of the results of the debt ceiling negotiations, which is set to begin this January. However, the GOP recently deflected cuts to the Pentagon by “passing a bill that would replace $55 billion in defense cuts with reductions in spending on food stamps, Medicaid and financial regulation.” Getting your anal on may feel good but not when ‘Boner’s’ floppy boy stick is ready to jam you good.

You may not care much about the poor schmo who needs a helping hand by his government but in hindsight it is the poor working class that shoulder the 1%. Taking more food out of their mouths just may have Big Boehner’s boner broken in half by some uppity mobs heading his way.
